The MA Fashion Design and MA Textile Design programmes at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, are proud to return to Africa Fashion Week London for a third consecutive year. Our practice-led, industry-focused programmes encourage students to develop a distinctive creative voice through experimentation, collaboration and cultural exchange, preparing graduates to shape the future of fashion and textiles with confidence and purpose. Alongside advancing their design and technical expertise, students gain experience across the wider creative industries, developing digital skills, styling, exhibition design and fashion show production to prepare them for the diverse demands of contemporary practice.
Created in collaboration with long-standing industry partner, designer and stylist Samson Soboye and our fabric sponsor, Orientar Kingtex, this year's collection, Moroccan Majesty, explores the vibrant colours, intricate craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage of Morocco, brought into dialogue with the iconic embellishment and distinctive character of London's Pearly Kings and Queens. Celebrating the meeting of two extraordinary cultural traditions, the collection showcases innovative fashion and textile design that champions craftsmanship, storytelling and identity while reflecting the inclusive, globally connected ethos at the heart of our programmes.
