AFWL2026 PROGRAMME
Africa Fashion Week London marks the 16th anniversary with a new retail concept, an extended programme at the British Council Headquarters and a first-time showcase at the iconic 8 Northumberland Avenue.
London, UK – Africa Fashion Week London will celebrate its milestone 16th anniversary from 17–23 August 2026 with its most ambitious programme to date. Under the theme "Design Beyond Borders" , the event will debut at the iconic 8 Northumberland Avenue, launch the new "Shop The Runway" retail platform, and introduce an expanded programme of industry talks, DJ workshops and creative collaborations, including a partnership with the British Council's Creative DNA programme.
Since its inception in 2011, AFWL has showcased more than 3,000 designers and creatives from Africa and the diaspora, cementing its position as one of the world’s leading catwalk and exhibition platforms for African fashion. AFWL2026 builds on that legacy by creating new opportunities for designers, entrepreneurs and creatives to connect with consumers, industry leaders and international markets. "Design Beyond Borders” reflects AFWL's commitment to championing African creativity on the global stage while reinforcing London's role as a hub for cultural exchange, innovation and creative enterprise.
"For sixteen years, Africa Fashion Week London has been about creating opportunities and celebrating African excellence. This year’s programme reflects our ambition to go even further by bringing together fashion, music, education and commerce in one extraordinary week. We are creating spaces where designers can learn, connect, showcase their work, and ultimately build sustainable businesses while sharing African creativity with the world.
