The British Council
Africa Fashion Week London proudly announced its partnership with the British Council’s Creative DNA initiative in a first-of-its-kind international collaboration spotlighting the vibrant next generation of African fashion.
Ten emerging fashion designers from Ethiopia, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria took part in an immersive programme during Africa Fashion Week London 2025. All ten designers were alumni of the Creative DNA Accelerator Programme, which nurtures early-career talent from across the continent.
At AFWL2025 the designers had a full itinerary which included a Designers Surgery, a visit to the Fashion Retail Academy, a day at Kensington Palace’s Dress Codes exhibition with Dr Avis Charles, and a trip to many of London’s retail stores to speak to owners.
