Dimeji Ilori
DIMEJI ILORI is part of a new generation of Nigerian designers reshaping African luxury through craftsmanship, sustainability, and cultural storytelling. Founded in Lagos in 2021, the brand has quickly gained attention for its emotionally charged design language — where heritage textiles, artisanal techniques, and contemporary silhouettes come together in collections that feel both deeply rooted and globally relevant.
Supported by the British Council Creative DNA 2026 programme, DIMEJI ILORI approaches fashion as wearable art — exploring identity, spirituality, memory, and quiet power through handcrafted garments designed to be experienced as much as worn.
The designer’s work has been recognised on the Lagos Fashion Week runway and across major creative platforms for its commitment to sustainable practice, including the transformation of discarded and deadstock materials into elevated, one-of-a-kind luxury pieces. Through this “Afrowaste” philosophy, the brand reimagines African craftsmanship within a contemporary global fashion conversation — proving that conscious design can still feel refined, directional, and powerful.
At AFWL2026, DIMEJI ILORI brings a collection rooted in culture, elevated by craftsmanship, and driven by a new vision of African luxury where storytelling, sustainability, and modern identity exist in perfect balance.
